Music classes for 4 year olds – LEVEL 4

In Level 4 music classes for 4-5 year olds, we engage your child in music and movement activities that also promote language, social and emotional skills, early maths and literacy, physical coordination, creativity, and much more – all the building blocks needed for future school success! 

Music and movement classes for 4 year olds

These 45-minute music classes follow a more independent format than those for our younger children with an initial welcome, including parents and children, followed by independent learning for your 4 year old before a final sharing time with parental participation at the end of class.

As well as fostering independence in your 4 year old this also offers you the chance to connect with other parents whilst your child has fun in our classes. But don’t worry, you don’t miss out – parents and younger siblings are always invited back for some special sharing time at the end of every class! You will also have full access to our online music resource – Kindermusik Online – to extend the magic and learning of a Kindermusik class into your own home, throughout the week.

Level 4 music classes for 4 year olds

Our level 4 music classes are designed to address each preschool child’s interests and developmental needs. They include a variety of activities such as:

• Listening to a variety of sounds and instruments, highlighting a variety of musical genres and cultures
• Back-and-forth rhythm conversations with instruments
• Pre-reading music and learning to interpret graphic notation symbols, a precursor to learning traditional music symbols
• Creative movement and dance, movement with a partner or group and movement that explores concepts like high/low or staccato/legato
• Singing a variety of songs in an appropriate vocal range and engaging in call-and-response, echoing, and instrument play
• Pretend play through music, vocal development, storytelling, listening, and movement
• Introduction to music concepts and vocabulary
